Established in 2011, the West Town Art Walk celebrates the diverse community of businesses in West Town while highlighting Chicago artists. The mission is to showcase West Town as a rich cultural hub that has much to offer residents, visitors, and business owners alike. Over the years West Town has become known as a thriving arts district with many galleries and home and garden design retailers.

Art Through Every Door.

Local businesses host artists and offer specials, West Town galleries and home and garden retailers participate, and the event features self-guided West Town public art walking tours. The West Town Art Walk celebrates art in all forms.

FAQ's

Q: Where do I start?

A: Attendees can start their Art Walk journey at any of the participating businesses, and all will have West Town Gallery Guides and Art Walk Programs. If you're looking for an Art Walk button or poster, stop by one of the four event Headquarters. There is no cost to attend the Art Walk.

Q: What's the best way to get around while exploring?

A: There will be three FREE pedicabs circulating the neighborhood during all Art Walk hours. Flag one down for a lift between locations and corridors. The bus is a great option on Chicago Ave., Grand Ave., and Ashland Ave.

Q: Are dogs allowed?

A: Well behaved dogs are allowed in some businesses! Check each business's information in the Map to see if it's dog friendly.

Q: How long has the West Town Art Walk been going on?

A: Thirteen years! The WTAW was established in 2011 by two local small business owners, Jule Ghatan (Dovetail) and Chris Hunt (Seek Vintage).
